Oxi-Fend Vinanza is supplied to us by our exclusive partner, New Zealand Extracts Co. Oxi-Fend Vinanza is the new name for our prior Vinanza Gold product. Oxi-Fend Vinanza is an 80% OPC product, but it is produced using the AquaPure extraction process. The extract process makes the Vinanza Gold product unique to the market as well as being 100% soluble in water. We also offer a 95% OPC alcohol and water extracted product.
What makes Oxi-Fend Vinanza Grape Seed Extract different?
We start with freshly separated seeds from New Zealand's award winning sauvignon blanc grapes. This seed has up to twice the levels of polyphenolic antioxidant compounds as seeds grown in other parts of the world.
These seeds are from grapes grown under a Sustainable Viticulture program, are traceable from the vineyard to you, and are free from Genetically Modified material, heavy metals, arsenic and pesticides.
Our Grape Seed Extracts are manufactured using simple and natural processes:
- Vinanza Gold is extracted with water only, no chemicals are used during any step of the process.
The final product is freeze dried which, along with the simple and natural extraction processes, maximizes the antioxidant activity.
We are specialist Grape Seed Extract manufacturers dedicated to delivering quality products supported by quality science. The New Zealand Extract Company is able to provide technical support to develop products using our Grape Seed Extracts.
Health Benefits:
Antioxidants play an important role in maintaining good health. They have been shown to possess anti-aging, anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer activity, as well as being able to prevent heart disease.
It has long been considered that these health benefits can also be provided by grapes and products from grapes such as red wine. The link between the health benefits provided by antioxidants and grapes was made by the discovery that grapes contain powerful antioxidants called polyphenolics. The highest levels of polyphenolics in grapes are found in the seeds, and include low molecular weight compound called catechins and high molecular weight compounds called oligomeric procyanidins (OPCs). These polyphenolics are at least 10 times more potent that the antioxidants vitamin C or E.
Grape seed extract has a long history of use. It is widely used as an ingredient in cosmetics and food products e.g:
- Functional foods e.g. baked goods, health bars, breakfast cereals etc.
- Fortified drinks
- Encapsulated products.
Studies in animals and humans have identified many potential health benefits of Grape Seed Extract:
- Animal studies have shown that Grape Seed Extract can:
- Inhibit UV-radiation induced skin damage and cancer
- Inhibit chemical induced skin cancer
- Inhibit chemical-dependant skin and capillary damage
- Inhibit the synthesis and release of many of the substances that promote inflammation
- Inhibit some of the early steps that have been implicated in cardiovascular disease
- Speed up wound healing
- Human studies have shown that Grape Seed Extract can:
- Spare vitamin E and inhibit damage to cellular material
- Improve visual performance
- Play a significant role in body weight management by reducing the energy intake in normal to overweight dietary unrestrained subjects
- Reduce the oxidative damage and depletion of vitamin E that occurs during exercise
- The evidence that Grape Seed Extract may prevent cancer is so strong that the National Cancer Institute in the USA is currently running a clinical trial to determine the effectiveness of Grape Seed Extract in preventing breast cancer in susceptible women.
- The effective oral dose in humans has been found to be between 50 and 300 mg of grape seed extract per day. Animal toxicity tests have demonstrated that Grape Seed Extract is safe to consume at up to at least 1.5g/kg body weight/day
