Lunasin XP is a patented bioactive peptide extracted from soy with exceptional heart health benefits, strong anti-inflammatory properties and other health benefits. Lunasin XP is a chromatin binding peptide which has been shown to inhibit HMG-CoA reductase expression and increases LDL cholesterol receptor expression.
There are currently animal and human clinical trials ongoing with Lunasin from which data will be available later this year.

Mechanism of Action:
  1. HMG-CoA reductase is the enzyme which is responsible for producing cholesterol in the body. If there is a lower expression of HMG-CoA reductase then there should be less cholesterol produced by the body.
  2. LDL cholesterol receptors are produced through the presence of SREBP and SP1. Reduced cholesterol production stimulates SREBP levels and if SP1 levels are also elevated LDL receptor production with become more efficient and more cholesterol can be pulled from the bloodstream.
It is believed that Lunasin XP reduces the expression of HMG-CoA reductase by blocking the acetylation of histone H3 and also stimulates SP1 production. Lunasin has also been shown in studies to reduce markers of inflammation
