CitriSweet is a unique blend of Oligofructose, Fructose, and Roxlor’s proprietary sweetening system using Natural Flavors and Citrus Extracts. CitriSweet is 10 times as sweet as sugar. It is a highly soluble product with excellent organoleptic properties. CitriSweet is specifically designed to be a user friendly sweetening system that has no aftertaste. Besides being a sweetening system, CitriSweet also provides health benefits from the prebiotic fiber and has a low glycemic index value.

CitriSweet is designed to be an extremely versatile sweetening system that can be used in nearly any application. In bakery systems it provides some bulk as opposed to high intensity sweeteners which do not. For applications where only a small amount of sweetness is needed, such as condiments, CitriSweet is much easier to work with than other sweeteners. CitriSweet’s best application area though is beverages. In beverages it provides a clean sweet taste and also provides health benefits. To use CitriSweet in any application simply divide the amount of sugar equivalent desired by 10 and add that much CitriSweet. The remaining bulk can either be left out in water based systems or can be replaced by other fillers in applications where bulk is necessary.

CitriSweet also can be used in conjunction with high intensity sweeteners. To use CitriSweet in this manner simply remove 25% of the high intensity sweetener from a formulation and replace it with CitriSweet. Using this combination will improve the sweetness profile, mask most sweetener aftertastes, and provide a cost savings to the final formulation. This method is especially effective with sucralose.

CitriSweet is also an excellent masking agent. It will cover up the aftertaste of soy and whey protein, vitamins, minerals, herbs and any other ingredients that add aftertastes to a product. A 1-2% inclusion is usually sufficient to cover any aftertaste that may be associated with a product.

CitriSweet is a Low Glycemic product that is well suited for low GI, diabetic and weight maintenance products. Because it is Low Glycemic it will have little affect on blood sugar levels and will not cause a significant insulin response. CitriSweet also has approximately ? the calories of sugar, and has 10 times the sweetness of sugar making it very useful for reduced calorie and diet products. Because CitriSweet contains healthy prebiotic fiber it will allow for label claims based upon fiber content, soluble fiber content and prebiotic content based on local regulations.
